Lakselv is the community center in Porsanger, which is the third largest municipality in Norway. The 4873 square kilometers are mainly wild life and nature containing plains, lakes, rivers and coastal landscape. At the head of the Porsangerfjord, which is Norway's fourth longest, is Lakselv. A small part of the area is home to just over 4000 people, of different origins. Three official languages are active in the region, Norwegian, Kven and Sami. |
