Ice fishing:
Finnmark is a paradise for ice fishing. There are currently about 5000 lakes in the municipality. There are both char and trout in the lakes. The season includes March and April and in May you can fish in the midnight sun.

The waters located near the road, are easily reached on foot and on skis. Locals often use snowmobiles for transportation. But the use of snowmobiles is strictly regulated. You must follow marked trails and you have to park within reasonable distance of the trail, no longer than 300 meters from the track.

The decision to follow the trails of course, limits the lakes you can reach by snowmobile. Most of the trails, however, pass many popular fishing lakes where the opportunities to fish are good.

Snow mobile:
Snowmobile Safari in Finnmark is a very special experience. You can feel the freedom of traveling in unspoiled nature, pass through forest valleys and hillsides, view the mountain in sparkling sunshine and feel the wind in your face across the barren plain.

In Porsanger, you can experience all this and more. Furthest to the south are the plains, to the north the municipality ends by the sea near the North Cape. Here is the fjord, valleys of pine forests, rivers and lakes, high mountains and flat plains.

A snowmobile tour along the valleys up to Skoganvarre by the foot of the mountains across the plains to Karasjok will give you an experience you will never forget.

It is important to remember that snowmobiling is strictly regulated and we must at all times follow the marked trails. If you want to make a rest with a bonfire or try your luck fishing, you must stay within 300 meters from the track.
